Take time to celebrate!

celebration-2

As summer winds down and Autumn starts to peak around the corner, we are reminded to celebrate life. Although many aspects of our lives are very different, we should choose to focus on the positive and celebrate our accomplishments and opportunities.

How our children attend school is different and can change on a dime. Many differences have created opportunities that would not have necessarily been available if the world was not forced to make these changes. Our daughter will be learning virtually until further notice from the Toms River school district. Our son is on campus in South Carolina and all of his classes are face to face. Our advice to both of them is to make the most of it, focus on the positive and find new ways to interact with others.

It is often through adversity that there is growth. September is a special month for us as chiropractors and it’s not because everything is pumpkin flavored. September 18 marks the anniversary of the first Chiropractic adjustment in Davenport, Iowa. Harvey Lillard, a janitor who lost his hearing after bending in a stooped position, was approached by Dr. D.D. Palmer, who was studying spines and their relationship to the nerves and body function. The gist of the story is Dr. Palmer adjusted Harvey and his hearing was restored. If it wasn’t for the challenges faced by Harvey who knows when and where Chiropractic would have had its start. We will celebrate this historic event in our office on Friday, September 18 with refreshments.

Life has and will give us challenges. How we handle those challenges determines our stress and our growth. Regular chiropractic helps to manage those stresses so that our bodies can continue to grow. Do your best to find the positive and have gratitude. Celebrate the positive and consider celebrating some of the challenges because most growth occurs when we are challenged.

Happy September.
